Hello everyone,
Here is a quick update to share God's blessing with you all. We have been praying for God to bless us with a baby through adoption the past year and 8 months. He has blessed us beyond measure. We received a phone call on the morning of Sept. 4th, asking us "how ready we were to adopt". We said we are ready. We found out birth mamma was in labor, so we found childcare for our 3 older kiddos (super thankful for the Miller family!!), packed up and hit the road to drive north of Chicago, IL. We were told she was expecting a boy. So the drive up we were brainstorming boy names. Then once we arrived at the hospital the nurses came to find us and told us It's A Girl! HaHa talk about a whirlwind of a day! We thankfully were able to see her that evening and she looked healthy and perfect. We took her from the hospital and stayed in a hotel till all paperwork was completed. And then we came home on Tues. Sept. 10th. We are so very thankful to birth mamma for giving her life and blessing us with Maria Klaire.
Thank you to everyone who helped out with the adoption through finances, prayers, gifts, childcare, and other ways I am sure I am forgetting. God used your gifts to bless us with Maria Klaire. (fyi she has a double first name:) . Also a song God used in our hearts through the process was by Shane & Shane Psalm 130. Waiting on God to provide in His perfect way. Keeping our hope in Him alone. He is faithful!

Adoption Update
Hello friends,
Wanted to drop a little note to update everyone where we are in the domestic adoption process. We have been in the "matching" process. So we see "situations" which are different cases of adoptable babies (most still in womb) and then "present" and then wait to be matched. We are currently waiting. Waiting for a situation we feel the Lord directing us to present too. Please be in prayer for wisdom for growing our family and trust in our Heavenly Father to provide for all our needs. And pray for us to be MATCHED soon :) Also we are always raising funds toward our adoption, so if you feel lead to help us - see link to our Lifesong grant account here on this blog.
And why not throw a few pictures on here :)

Adoption Grant
Hello everyone,
Thank you for checking in. We are ready to start moving forward in the matching process with Christian Adoption Consultants. One HUGE need is when we are matched we need to be able to have half the funds in hand. We are so thankful for being awarded a $3,500 matching grant from Grace Presbyterian Church, administered by Lifesong for Orphans. Lifesong has provided the MyStory platform in order to raise our funds. If you can give know your giving is being matched and will go further through the MyStory, so you can find the donate button on the right side of the this blog. We are praying to raise these funds by August 31.
If you have already given THANK YOU! We have raised $10,000 as of June 2018. If you could share our MyStory page with a friend that would be so very helpful.
We are getting very excited here at the Hayes house as the thought of a baby joining us is inching closer!

Home Study Complete!
Hello!
We have officially completed our home study! We are now beginning to work with the Christian Adoption Consultants. We are looking forward to getting things rolling. One major way we are moving forward is in raising funds for the adoption. We have reached $5,000 with $40,000 more to go. That is 100 people giving $400. This is a big goal but one God can provide for. If you can help please click on the donate button on the side bar of this blog. Or you can mail us a personal check.

2018 Adoption
Hello Friends & Family,
We have begun a new journey this new year of 2018 and want to share it with you. We are beginning the process of adopting a baby from the U.S. We are very excited about this journey and ask for all your prayers.
So far we have begun our home study and are learning lots of new things about adoption. Our kids are very excited and pray for a baby boy daily, (yes we hope for a boy!). We are planning on using the Christian Adoption Consultants, as they come highly recommended from many who have adopted.
We are raising funds for our adoption and if you feel led you can use our donate button on this site. Every little bit helps us to reach our goal and bring our baby boy home. Thanks so much!

School Year 2017-2018 1st Day pics
Looks like I missed my annual post of pics from our first day of school :) So I am trying to make some time to blog again so we can keep you posted on how our adoption is going. I thought I would post some pic's of our kiddos school year.
One of the lovely mom's took an individual pic of each student the second week back to Classical Conversations. And here are their pics. I love how each one shows their unique personalities :)
These first 4 photos is from their First Day back to Classical Conversations. It was August 25, 2017.

2016 Fall
I am reading a lot these days. I enjoy reading and learning and hope to always be reading. I came across this site and thought it was kinda fun. Check it out. How fast do you read?
How Fast Can You Read?
We have started up our fourth year of homeschooling. IS IT REALLY GOING TO BE OUR 4TH YEAR!!! Where has the time gone! We have been going at the Hayes' house for the last 4 weeks. This week starts our Classical Conversations (CC) coop that we are a part of and so we are excited to start that back up.
Micah is officially Kindergarten this year, Molly is 3rd grade and Madelynn is preschool. This is our plan for this year:
For our language arts we are continuing to use Spell to Write and Read (SWR) So far I have been very pleased with this curriculum. It teaches spelling, writing and reading all together intertwined and it is amazing! I am learning so much about the English language!
For math we are also continuing to use Saxon. Micah is in Saxon 1 and Molly Saxon 3.
For reading I am using the plans written by Heart of Dakota. So Micah is using the Little Hearts for His Glory guide and Molly uses Bigger Hearts for His Glory and Madelynn uses Little Hands to Heaven. I do not follow the guides language arts or math since I love SWR and Saxon. But I love the books she chooses to have the kiddos read and the bible, poetry, and history plans.
We also do the CC memory work that begins this week!
Lastly we are using Risas y Sonrisas for Spanish.
So far I am enjoying this year so much we are one month in :) It is fun to see Molly grow so much these last few years and now Micah is also taking off in wanting to learn. I am super thankful to be able to homeschool right now. I love learning and I love teaching my kiddos to learn.

Transformed
Well as many of you know we came home from a trip to TN to it raining in our house!! Our master bathroom sprung a big leak and water went through the floor and destroyed our kitchen and down to the basement and destroyed our laundry room and Kenny's office. Here is a pic of the kitchen as the ceiling had fallen in.
So after 5 months of our home under construction we are amazingly blessed by our home.
Thank you everyone for all your prayers. We are very thankful for all the love and encouragement along the way. It's so nice to be home!
Being out of our home for 5 months has made this year fly by! It really feels like we are moving in again. Unpacking has been like a much needed spring cleaning. Nice to declutter our home. Well just thought I'd share a quick update for those who were wondering.

Micah is 5!
Micah is 5 today!!
We celebrated with a sweet family whose little boy Sully is buddies with Micah. And they had a blast! He wanted to camp out. But with HOT weather we decided on indoor camping for the boys. But they still were able to roast their hotdogs over the fire and smores! A fun night!
And my friend took some great pics. So here are a few!

Surprise remodeling
We came home from our trip to TN to quite a surprise.

Apparently a leak in our master bathroom created this huge mess while we were gone.
So far our home insurance has been taking care of us. Please keep praying for us as we begin this surprise remodeling of our home.
